LearnUpon's Remarkable Seven-Year Run in the Fast 50: Sustaining Growth and Innovation

LearnUpon has always been driven by our hardworking people, loyal customers and impactful product. I am so grateful for the encouragement and recognition that we have received from our partners, customers, and those within the LMS and eLearning industry to get us where we are today. Please join me in celebrating one of our many achievements – our seventh year in Deloitte’s Fast50 awards, one of Ireland’s foremost technology award programmes!

Since founding LearnUpon in 2012, we serve over 1,400 companies globally, including prominent names like PING, Twilio, and Adecco, as well as renowned Irish firms like Brown Thomas Arnotts, Easons, and Children’s Health Ireland, Temple Street. We have offices in Dublin, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Sydney, New York, and Belgrade, showcasing our ambitious plans for global expansion.

We drive learning innovation

I believe that LearnUpon has always been about more than just growth – our customers are at the heart of everything we do. It’s about creating value, driving innovation, and maintaining a relentless focus on customer success. Being part of the Fast50 for seven years is a reflection of our team’s dedication and our commitment to delivering an exceptional learning experience.

Myself and Des Anderson, my co-founder and CTO, created LearnUpon in response to a gap we saw in the eLearning market — the need for a user-friendly, scalable learning management system (LMS). So, what started as a solution to a niche problem soon evolved into a platform that empowers global businesses to unlock the full potential of their learning programs.

Des has often said that, “the secret to LearnUpon’s success lies in its ability to adapt swiftly to market needs while maintaining a steadfast focus on customer satisfaction. This customer-centric approach has not only fuelled our product innovation but has also fostered a loyal customer base.”

A robust company culture

Behind our technological and business achievements is an amazing team that believes in the company’s culture. We are committed to our employees and the importance of a strong company culture can’t be overstated. At LearnUpon, we put an emphasis on employee engagement and fostering a collaborative work environment has played a significant role in our sustained success.

Derek Cavanagh, LearnUpon’s CFO, knows how crucial culture is to any successful business. He says that “culture is the cornerstone of our success, and a key part of that is how we develop our leaders. It’s not just about guiding our team members; it’s about equipping them with the skills and mindset to tackle challenges and innovate. Our leaders help shape a culture where everyone is encouraged to grow and contribute. This approach isn’t just good for morale; it drives tangible results and sustainable growth.”

Future-proofing success

As LearnUpon continues its upward trajectory, I’d like to take a moment to look at our strategies for future-proofing the business. Key to these strategies is diversifying our customer base and continuously enhancing our platform to ensure scalability. We are investing in a suite of automation and AI features that empower administrators, streamline their workflows and enhance the efficiency of learning management. I believe that these innovations are critical to maintaining our competitive edge and driving forward our vision in the evolving online learning landscape.

Our seven-year streak in the Fast50 underscores the importance of customer-centric innovation, a strong company culture, and a relentless focus on customer success. As we continue to grow and evolve, I believe we remain a prime example of what it takes to not just survive, but thrive in the ever-changing landscape of Learning Tech.
