How Kony stays learner-centric with LearnUpon

Kony develops and implements mobile applications for banking, credit unions, and a number of other industries.

Wanting to add structure to customer and employee training, the Learning and Development team built a strong learner-centric strategy. To implement this strategy, they needed a solution that enabled them to train multiple audiences in a learner-friendly way, and they chose LearnUpon’s LMS.

“One of the reasons we chose LearnUpon at the time was the learner-centricity. Learner-centricity and customer-centricity are at the heart of what we do. We can think about the learner instead of having to think about the system all the time.”

What training is actually happening?

Kony is an organization that knows the value of training. When its customers and employees understand their role and the software, they’re more successful. And, although training was seen as important, without an LMS it was unstructured. It happened all over the place, and there was no way to tell what training had happened and when. The training needed structure.

To implement a more formalized strategy, Kony’s Learning and Development team decided to invest in a learning management system. For them, it was less about over the top features they more than likely wouldn’t use. Instead, they focused on finding a solution that helped them achieve their learning goals – reach their multiple audiences and deliver easily accessible training to their learners.

A learner-centric solution

For Kony, LearnUpon’s learning management system was the clear choice. For the team, they found it remarkably admin-friendly as they could quickly set up branded and configured learning portals for each one of the audiences.

“We had our first portal up and running in beta for our internal customers within two weeks. And not just up and running, but up and running with a single sign-on integration with Office 365 so that we would not have to give any of our users a new log on, username or password just to get access to the learning management system. Two weeks. ”

Quick to set up training delivery for the team

Accessible and intuitive learner interface

Structured all training activities

It was the learner-friendliness that was the real draw though. The Kony team admired how user-friendly the LearnUpon platform is, making training easily accessible and intuitive for their learners.

“It needed to be so simple to figure out how it works, and how to enroll, and how to complete a course, and where to go for more, so the whole dashboard with the catalog and the store and the checkout functionality in eCommerce. It all was really simple.”

Critically for the Kony team, the most important factor was that LearnUpon proved to be the best solution to deliver the training strategy they wanted – a learner-focused one.

“Be learner-centric. If you are learner-centric, you can make the LearnUpon system do exactly what you need it to do.”
